Lukasheko suggests that Alfa Group expand presence in Belarus
MINSK, Jun 15 (PRIME) -- Belorussian President Alexander Lukashenko told Pyotr Aven, a member of Russian private bank Alfa-Bank’s board of directors and a member of Alpha Group’s supervisory board, that the group should expand its presence in Belarus, a spokesperson for the president said on Thursday.
“Considering our close relations -- Belarus and Russia -- it is strange that such a powerful organization, group as yours, having such financial resources, is badly represented in Belarus,” he said.
Lukashenko added that he is ready to back expansion of Alfa Group’s operations on the market.
Aven said his company is primarily interested in retail and online business.
